  • Responsible Treatment of Your Information H&M Microfinance is committed to treating all personal information with care and responsibility. This includes any information that can be used to identify you, such as your name, address, contact details, and identification number.
  • Personal Information is Important to Us H&M Microfinance only collects and processes personal information for specific reasons, such as to comply with legal requirements or to protect legitimate interests. The information collected will only be used for the purpose for which it was provided, and will not be processed any further.
  • Uses of Personal Information H&M Microfinance may collect and process personal information for the following purposes:
    1. Creating a record of you in our system for verification of identity and provision of products and services
    2. Assessing creditworthiness and financial circumstances
    3. Preventing financial crime, including sanctions screening and anti-money laundering monitoring
    4. Historical, statistical, or research purposes (without being published in an identifiable format)
    5. Providing tax-related information to tax authorities
    6. Corporate transactions, such as the sale of our businesses, legal entities, or assets
    7. Employee and director screening and record-keeping
    8. Due diligence and risk assessment for suppliers
  • Processing of Special Personal Information H&M Microfinance will not process special personal information unless you have given your consent, it is necessary for legal purposes, to comply with an international legal obligation, for historical or statistical purposes that do not affect your privacy, or if you have made your information public.
  • Required Personal Information There are certain fields of personal information that must be filled in to receive products and services or be onboarded as an employee, supplier, director, or job applicant. These fields are indicated by an asterisk or another symbol on the respective platform, and must be accurate and complete. If the required information is not provided, we may not be able to continue with your application or our relationship with you may be suspended or terminated.
  • Collection of Personal Information In most cases, personal information will be collected directly from you. However, there may be instances where we collect information from other sources, such as public records, credit bureaus, or individuals/directors appointed as representatives. This information will only be collected where we are legally entitled or obliged to do so, and you have the right to ask where your personal information was collected from.
  • Processing of Personal Information In most cases, H&M Microfinance will process personal information internally. However, there may be instances where we need to outsource these functions to third parties, either within H&M Microfinance or external to it. In these cases, we will ensure that appropriate measures are in place to protect your information and comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
